Challenges and experiences for education, awareness, and capacity building to accelerate actions in biodiversity conservation

  • COP16 Blue Pavilion Cali Columbia (map)

Through a multi-stakeholder dialogue representing experiences in biodiversity, culture, and gender defense, support for capacity building in exercising access rights, and cooperation actions between international platforms and civil society organizations, this event aims to:

  • Generate actions and sensitize decision-makers about the importance of closing the gaps in decision-making and access to participation, biodiversity-related information, access to justice in environmental matters, and the rights of biodiversity defenders.

  • Share experiences in capacity building, education, and awareness of biodiversity knowledge (Goal 21).

  • Identify challenges and obstacles in access to participation, information, and justice related to biodiversity (Goal 22).

  • Highlight the actions of biodiversity defenders in strengthening access rights. (Comprehensive Goal 21-22-Escazú Agreement)
