Ocean & Plastic Literacy
Storytelling as an Enabler for Change
Humanity’s relationship with the ocean is deeply intertwined, and this understanding is vital to marine conservation, our wellbeing, and the overall health of the blue planet. Through collaborative storytelling and social media, we are raising awareness of the connections between human actions and ocean health.
Increasing Plastic Literacy
At the heart of our campaign lies the imperative to enhance public understanding of the risks of plastics to both human and ocean health. Plastic literacy entails comprehending the adverse impacts of plastic production, use, and pollution. Often, the plastic industry intentionally keeps the public in the dark about these risks. We are dispelling misconceptions, crafting educational resources, and advocating for heightened transparency from both governments and the private sector through the Global Plastics Treaty. Upholding human environmental rights means safeguarding the human right to know the chemical compositions of plastic products and their real risks. Plastic literacy ensures that consumers, communities, and regulators can make informed decisions, and it empowers people to be part of the change.
