HUMANS & NATURE

“Propelled by the global environmental crisis, the rights of nature movement has the potential to create a world where people live in genuine harmony with nature.”—David Boyd, The Rights of Nature

From the Earth law perspective, humans not only defend Nature . . . we are Nature.

Environmental defenders, citizens of Small Island Developing States, the poor, children, and in the end, all of us face forms of ecological destruction that degrade our beloved places and threaten our wellbeing, health, and lives.

Whether violations of rights happening today or defending the rights of future generations, Earth Law Center stands up for human environmental rights.

ELC has worked with Indigenous and other frontline groups in dozens of countries to defend their rights, and Nature’s rights, in courts and legislatures.
