  • New York Law School 185 West Broadway New York, NY, 10013 United States (map)

Earth Law Center Education invites you to explore the Rights of Rivers movement and emerging field of Earth law at New York Law School. Join leading Earth law educators, including the primary authors and editors of the course book Earth Law: Emerging Ecocentric Law--A Guide for Practitioners, for this comprehensive introduction to Rights of Nature work on rivers and to the field of ecocentric law more broadly.

We will examine this paradigm shift in environmental law through:

  • Two short film screenings: "Last Stand: Saving the Elwha River's Legacy Forests," and "Atlanta to the Atlantic: Connecting Communities to the South River"

  • An introduction to Earth law, followed by a panel discussion, a "movement lawyering" workshop, and reception
